Third Anniversary!

We met last night for our 3rd anniversary meeting on the latest issue, God, and it was lovely to get together. On the menu: Pasta from Pizza Hut (because I was completely late with the cooking), Dan's famous salad, hummus and wine from Jay... Thanks to Dan and Jay for being so understanding about the state of the house.

We are excited to have heard back from Parabola about helping us reinstate the link to find us in Albuquerque. It's too wonderful!

On the horizon... sponsoring a film festival at The Guild, tentatively Mongolian theme (Genghis Blues and Close to Eden). We are also venturing into the more public realm of adding our group to the Journal interest groups listings, at least once. More updates to come.

Scheduling Difficulties Impede Parabolistas Meet-Ups!

Well, it's been awhile since we have met, and I regret to say it's largely due to my schedule, although we have one member out of town frequently and another with an unfortunately timed holiday illness. With the next issue, a new effort for at least one meeting is a must!

It looks like it was last updated in September - the feed address appears correct - if anyone knows how to fix it (I think the issue is with the Parabola website) then by all means, fix it or let me know how and I'll do it- meanwhile, online there is a lot of active discussion these days, check it out if you get the notion...

As perhaps the most provocative cover ever, with just a single word in red on black, the issue on sex provided for a fabulous meeting. We noted a wide range of approaches covered in this issue, rather than a particular slant on the theme, as we have before. We also noted a couple of items that we believe could have been covered more thoroughly.

A more detailed post may follow, time permitting, but meanwhile, here's a rundown of the food and attendees:

Setting: Doug and Katharine's

Food: Doug cooked a Greek chicken stuffed with a raisin-almond rice pilaf, Katharine made hummus, and Dan brought a fabulous salad. Chocolate ganache cake was the addition at the insistance of young Martin...

Drink: A Greek mulled brandy.

Music: Kurt Elling, Greek traditional

Attendees: Dan, Katharine and Doug
